About Us

Monasterevin & District Anglers Association was formed in the 1970's by local anglers. The aim of the association was and is to provide, encourage and to protect angling in the Monasterevin region. The association is run by a committee, which is elected from its members at the annual general meeting. Monasterevin and District Anglers Association is affiliated to the "Trout Anglers Federation of Ireland" (T.A.F.I.). Primarily the association was set up to cater for trout and salmon angling. In recent years both pike and coarse angling has being included and now is an integral section of the association.

Activities and work undertaken by the association include, bridge/style manufacturing/installation, bank side clearance/maintenance, restocking, fishery protection, competitions and tuition. All such work and activities are done voluntarily.
