Pike Competition 17th August Cancelled

Due to the recent bad weather and subsequent flooding the pike competition is cancelled . 

142 lb bag of bream

Well done to Fintan Brennan of Abbeyleix Co.Laois. Fintan recently caught a massive bag of bream from the wide waters on the grand canal. His total weight was 142lb. He had to give up his fishing session when he ran out of maggots which he was using. Its his best bag in over twenty years. 

Angler of the year Final 2008

 The "Angler of the Year" final was held on 21st Sunday 2008. The river was slighty high and with clear blue skys fishing was hard and slow. The results were as follows:

2nd. Larry Holligan ~ 4lb, 
3rd John Walsh ~ 2lb

Elizabeth Cullen Junior Angler of the year Juniors:

2nd Jamie Donovan 
3rd Jonathon Malone

John Walsh 10lb 9oz
